Profile
Gwen Lloyd, Professor in the Department of Mathematics, teaches mathematics courses for preservice elementary and secondary teachers and advises mathematics education doctoral students. Gwen is currently involved with an NSF-funded study of preservice secondary teachers' interactions with textbooks and curriculum materials in undergraduate mathematics courses. Gwen is Chair of the Editorial Panel of the Journal for Research in Mathematics Education (JRME), Board Member of SIG/RME, and a Research Associate of the NSF-funded Center for the Study of Mathematics Curriculum. She also serves on the Executive Committee of Virginia Tech's Academy of Teaching Excellence. Her recent work has been published in JRME, the Journal of Mathematics Teacher Education, and Educational Studies in Mathematics. Gwen's work-in-progress includes an NCTM publication about functions for high school teachers and an edited research volume about teachers' use of mathematics curriculum materials.
